A comment on our facebook page has started us off in a new direction this week. The haiku is a Japanese poetry form, usually with a nature inspiration, that is 3 lines long and 17 syllables long. The 3 lines are 5 syllables/7 syllables/5 syllables and they help to form a nature experience as a memory. It's also a good mental exercise to find the words that reflect the experience and fit the form.
I have been experimenting with a dawn haiku that sums up the moment before sunrise. Check in to see how I am doing with this and do send us yours in the comments or by email
